One year away from an English degree at the University of Kansas, Brandi knew that the pathways to her dream job were limited, and she would have to create the outcome she wanted. So she ignored that message and went to the new leadership of the magazine in search of an internship they weren't offering. Her tenacity and drive earned her the position of KC Magazine's first intern, followed by a job offer six months before her graduation. There, she was a vital part of the magazine's rebranding and the launch of three more new titles.
She quickly gained a reputation for taking on the most challenging projects and finding creative solutions that move her team toward their goals faster and with greater success. She spent the next decade of her career building successful media brands and helping magazines reach new levels of excellence. Her work has been recognized by The James Beard Foundation, Editor & Publisher Magazine, FOLIO, MIN, New York Public Library, and The Tulsa Press Club.
Today, Brandi shares her experience and expertise with magazines that have great aspirations and the drive to reach and exceed them. Through her consulting services, she works with visionary owners and publishers to help them:
